BlueTOAD - How It Works
A brief video showing how BlueTOAD works, through the detection of anonymous Bluetooth™ signal identifications broadcast by mobile devices traveling in millions of vehicles on the road. BlueTOAD timestamps detections, and calculates travel times, road speeds and direction of travel by matching detections of subsequent devices. BlueTOADs can be paired among multiple devices to determine alternate route travel times as well as Origin-Destination Route Behaviors.

The report prepared by KMJ Consulting for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation details how BlueTOAD favorably performed in delivering accurate and reliable travel times and road speeds along the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76) near Philadelphia. The report compares BlueTOAD travel times against the standard established by data derived from Toll Tag (EZPass) readers, while also accounting for the relative cost effectiveness of BlueTOAD in both installation and operation.
